When I grow up...

When I grow up I want to be Grace Coddington... What an amazing woman she is! Every time I see an editorial fashion shoot she has directed I am in absolute awe... The way she selects clothing and puts it all together to create a visual feast, where every element within the frame works in such symmetry. She makes the images more than just clothes on a model - she tells a story, she creates mood and ambience, she creates texture, light and shade - she makes it art!

Here are some of my all time favourite Grace Coddington moments from U.S Vogue:

I loved the Wizard of Oz themed shoot - Keira Knightly looks amazing - such powerful images and quite a 'dark' take on the story.

I loved the Hansel and Gretel shoot too! I especially loved this photo - Lady Gaga as the wicked old hag who hold Hansel and Gretel captive - fitting?!

This is my all time favourite shot - genious!! If you have seen 'The September Issue' then you know the story behind this shot - the camera guy is the camera guy from the documentary. This shot is so fresh and animated and quircky - pure Grace!

Another homage - this time Alice in Wonderland - not as good as the Hansel and Gretel, but still quirky and cool.
And you know what I love the most about Grace Coddington?? The fact that she is this crazy frizzy red haired robust woman who clearly doesn't care about being a size nothing, and has a uniform of solid boring black - yet she works at Vogue!
Sigh....
